South GA Parents to Get Help Talking with Their Teens About Sex and Pregnancy
An organization that offers help to South Georgia parents talk with their teens about sex and pregnancy are going to find that there’s support for them.
(source)The “Taking Time for Teens” coalition is looking for new ways to get south Georgia’s teen pregnancy numbers down and this time, the group is targeting parents.
The coalition’s goal is to prepare a year-long campaign starting January 1st, 2009 that will give parents the resource they need to talk to kids about sex. “Taking Time for Teens” recently put on a “Teen Maze” program that showed young teens the consequences of taking drugs, having sex at a young age, and teen pregnancy. Coalition member Marcus glass says for the message to truly resonate, it has to come from their parents.
If you’d like to get involved, the next meeting is scheduled at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Thursday, December 4th at 1:45 p.m.
