For those who think that their teen (or teens who think that they or their friends) wouldn’t become pregnant, it’s important to take a look at what sometimes leads to teen pregnancy.

First, there’s family life. While parents may not want to think that they are involved in their children’s lives, the reality is that families that have open communication about sex and other issues are less likely to go through the teen pregnancy experience. On the other hand, in families where emotional or physical abuse takes place, in families where there is a great deal of chaos and divisiveness, teens are likely to turn to sex to find the love they’re missing.
